Cadiz is the oldest city in Western Europe, having been founded as far back as 3100 by the Phoenicians. Cadiz sits on a level ground, surrounded by beautiful views and historical monuments. The old part of Cadiz retains the remains of the city walls. In times of discovery, Christopher Columbus sailed from Cadiz on his second and fourth voyages. The city boasts many architectural structures built in different styles.
