Alfaz del Pi is a town in the south-eastern part of the Marina Baha region. The name comes from the Arabic for "sowing field". Traditionally, the town's economy was based on fruit and almond trees. But today the main sector of the municipality's economy is tourism. However, it retains some agricultural sectors: vineyards, orange and lemon trees, almonds and figs. Therefore, one can enjoy the local fruit and the local wine. In addition, nature is protected in the Sierra Elada Nature Park.
