Elche is a town and municipality in Spain, situated on the Mediterranean coast of the province of Alicante, south-east of Spain. Here you can visit the Altamira or Alcázar de la Señoria, which was built at the end of the XV century by the Castilian nobleman Gutiérre de Cárdenas, the first lord of the city. The most visited and surprising place is the Palmeral. It holds the record for the number of palm trees per m2.
