The Mar de Cristal is situated in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula in the autonomous region of Murcia. The town is located on the coast of the Mar Menor. The Mar de Cristal is one of the most popular tourist destinations, so the population increases significantly in summer. Its beach is renowned for the quality of its water (hence its name, the Crystal Sea) and has all the facilities needed to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The beach here is most often awarded the blue flag. The average annual temperature is 17ºC.
