San Javier is a Spanish municipality of the Region of Murcia, located in the northern part of the Mar Menor. It includes the coastal towns of Santiago de la Ribera and the central and northern parts of La Manga del Mar Menor. It also owns the municipality of San Javier and two of the five volcanic islands in the interior of the Mar Menor: Isla Mayor and Isla del Barón, which are the largest lagoons. The municipality also owns the island of Perdigero, one of the most visited. Both volcanic islands are located in the Mediterranean opposite the beaches of La Manga. The town accrues numerous beaches.
