Canet de Berenguer belongs to the province of Valencia, in the Campo de Murviedro area. The name Canet comes from the Latin cannetum, "marshy area". The city is located on the Mediterranean coast near the mouth of the Palencia River. The surface of the city is completely flat. On the left side of the estuary is the cape of Canetum, where a 30m high tower has been erected on a lighthouse, the white light of which reaches a radius of 25 miles. The climate is Mediterranean and warm. The town hosts the annual San Pedro Festival (Fiestas de San Pedro), the main characters of which are the bulls.
